Scarlett Johansson, renowned as one of Hollywood’s most beautiful stars, recently opened up to InStyle magazine about her personal beauty struggles. Despite her glamorous image, the Black Widow actress admitted to having ‘problem skin,’ which motivated her to create her own skincare line, The Outset.
Johansson, who is married to SNL’s Colin Jost, shared that her desire for a more effective skincare solution led her to develop products free from harmful ingredients. “I realized that I was using many harmful products that were not only damaging to me but also to the environment,” she said. Her line excludes fragrances, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, gluten, and nut allergens, featuring the signature hyaluroset complex in all its products.
Previously, Johansson was a face for brands like L’Oréal Paris and Dolce & Gabbana. However, she chose to venture out on her own as it aligned better with her personal beauty ideals. “It no longer felt right to represent someone else’s vision of beauty,” she explained, reflecting on her desire for greater control over her career.
He likes the cream: She also shared that Jost likes the night cream. ‘He’s the first partner I’ve ever had that uses an eye cream,’ she said. She and Jost welcomed their first child, Cosmo, in August 2021, and her daughter, Rose, is seven-years-old; seen in 2020
Launching The Outset has been a challenging but rewarding experience for Johansson. “It’s been a lot of work, but I feel like I got my MBA through this process,” she said. Her husband, Colin Jost, has also taken a liking to the products, particularly the night cream. Johansson mentioned, “He’s the first partner I’ve had who uses an eye cream.”
