Scarlett Johansson is gearing up for a thrilli𝚗g summer in Elstree, Hertfordshire, where she will begin filming the latest installment of the blockbuster Jurassic Park film series.
Johansson, 39, will be the leading human star in Jurassic World 4, which promises a completely new storyline compared to the trilogy featuring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and the velociraptors.
Confirming the start of filming this week, she expressed her long-standing desire to join the franchise, saying, “I’ve been trying to become part of this franchise in any way possible for over a decade. I’m like, ‘I’ll diе in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by anything!’”
Her enthusiasm contrasts sharply with Jennifer Lawrence, who reportedly turned down the role initially offered to her, possibly due to reluctance about joining a franchise that is well-established.
While some filming has already occurred in Thailand and additional scenes will be shot in Malta, the majority of production will take place in UK studios starting next month.
The film is under the direction of up-and-coming British filmmaker Gareth Edwards, known for his work on the Star Wars spin-off Rogue One and the sci-fi thriller The Creator.
